Insightful data analysis
Ray Dalio goes through a lot of relevant data to support the long-term-market-crash hypothesis. Very good for long-term financial planning.

His book is actually really interesting when comparing US with Roman empire, etc.. This person has a brain, and is probably one of the only hedge fund douche bags to actually try to help the general public.

Listen to Ray Dalio
You should listen to smart people that have studied economy extensively -- like him -- rather than people trying to sell gold like Peter Schiff. He actually knows what he's talking about given that he's been running Bridgewater for an eternity and made a shit load of money doing it.

Too conservative
Too much bonds (unless you're very risk-averse), and the commodities and gold are pretty unnecessary, as their long-term return is around or slightly above the inflation rate, except they're pretty volatile. If the point of holding those is protection against stock-market downturns, then you can replace those with bonds as well. Not enough about any actual damn investing.

Critical review of Ray Dalio
Ray Dalio is just a huckster that made a terrible bet on China and realized he couldn't get his money out without conning others to get their money in. I highly doubt he's spent much time in a Chinese classroom if he thinks their education system is superior, take it from me (someone who has). Hates the American economy.

Ray Dalio books are pretty insightful. Soviet Union was a military threat. China is an economic threat. All that.

Calls out government finances
I agree with Ray Dalio's theory on govts printing money via debt is just a polite way of raising taxes. I don't see anyone else focusing on this that much, so he stands out.
